
The Rowan County Literacy Council's Basic Literacy program addresses the needs of adults with low literacy skills in reading writing and math.
The curriculum is designed for adults and includes a variety of books and levels from beginning reading and writing through preparation for the pre-GED program. The program incorporates the student's self-identified educational, personal, and job related goals.
Driver's Education is also available for those students wishing to prepare for the Department of Motor Vehicle written test in order to obtain a driver's license.
Instruction in all programs is free.
An initial registration fee covers the cost of an intake evaluation and the first book. All additional books are supplied at a discount rate.
